Ever heard of Black Friday? You have probably seen the stack of Black Friday sales ads that came in your Sunday paper, or in the Thanksgiving Day newspaper. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving.
What Black Friday is
Since so many people go shopping this day, stores make serious money - and making money means they are in the black. You see, accountants use red ink to show a loss, and black ink to show a profit. Many stores don ' t make a profit or get into the black until Black Friday. That ' s how it got the nickname.
Those Black Friday Sales Ads lay out dozens of good deals and cheap buys to get you and me to come in and buy something. Many big stores give away little things to get you to come and shop. Problem is, the stores started opening early to beat other stores and grab more of the shoppers earlier.
